Off-season photosynthetic activity is an overlooked aspect of plant life and responses to future climatic changes are not known. This a major motivation for an investigation of plant performance and activity on the leaf scale. Characterization of photosynthetic capacity and actual activity through gas exchange techniques are the starting point. Then the impact of climatic drivers as increased CO₂ and temperature can be investigated and analyzed. This project will be carried out in close collaboration with an ongoing Ph.D. study, and applicants can expect close supervision throughout the process.
