The EPRECOT workshop will have 2 main activities:

Main sessions
3 sessions, which will present the state of the art with respect to research projects and understanding effects of precipitation change on ecosystem processes and ecosystem functioning. The session will be:

• Setting the stage
• Effects of precipitation alone
• interactions with other global change drivers

Group discussions
Based on the presentations at the sessions 3-5 groups will discuss specific aspects of precipitation change targeting at producing a paper by each group to be published in a special issue of GCB or similar journal

Further activities includes:

Field trip
A half day excursion will be arranged to visit the CLIMAITE experimental site where field scale experiments with combined CO₂, temperature and precipitation are conducted.

Poster session
2 poster sessions will be arranged in order to present experiments and specific results not included in the main sessions.
