Student-projects - Ph.D.-Projects

CLIMAITE has initiated 8 Ph.D. projects linked to the 3 field related work packages (WP2-WP4) and the synthesis work package (WP5).

The initiated PhD projects are:

  1. Ph.D. in Plant physiology (completed)
  2. Ph.D. in soil fauna physiology (completed)
  3. Ph.D. in plant/fauna interactions (year 2-5)
  4. Ph.D. on cycling, uptake and sizes of N pools(completed)
  5. Ph.D. on carbon cycling (year 2-4)
  6. Ph.D. on community responses to climate change (year 3-5)
  7. Ph.D. on Root dynamics and below ground carbon input in a changing climate (year 3-5)
  8. Ph.D. on Soil fauna drought physiology (Year 4-6)
  9. Ph.D. on Climate change impacts on heathland plant species and its consequences for ecosystem stability (Year 5-7)
  10. Effects of warming, elevated CO2 and drought on soil bacterial and archaeal community structure(Year 5-7)

It is furthermore likely that Ph.D. projects funded from other sources will be started in association to the CLIMAITE consortium.

All Ph.D. projects will cover at least 2 different WPs and at least 2 involved research groups. Thereby, we intent to enhance the collaboration among WPs and research groups and create a strong and motivating educational environment for the Ph.D. students.

Furthermore, all Ph.D. students will be involved in and contribute to the syntheses work in WP5.
